OPEN SHELF (OS)
Multi-disciplinary reading materials, which can be borrowed by users according to patron category. Open Shelf is indicated with the initial 'OS' at the spine of the book. The general location is based on Library of Congress Classification Scheme. Books for lending are located in separate sections for adults and children. These are sub-divided into fiction and non-fiction categories.  The fiction books are arranged alphabetically by author and separated into English and Bahasa Melayu language sections

RED SPOT
(RS)
A collection of highly recommended textbook and main reference book by the lecturer. It is a collection which can be borrowed for  one (1 ) day only. Red spot is indicated with the initial 'RS' and a red spot at the spine of the book.

REFERENCE
(REF)
Reference collections include dictionaries, encyclopaedias, directories, bibliographies, yearbooks, almanacs, atlases, and manuals. The collection is not for loan and can only be referred in the library. Reference collection is indicated with the initial 'REF' at the spine of the book and it is located at the reference section

MALAYSIANA
This collection consists of materials on Malaysia, subjects that are related to the teaching, research and extension activities of the University. If the contents are wholly or partly on Malaysia, the material is categorised as Malaysiana regardless of whether it is published in Malaysia or elsewhere. The Malaysian legal publications such as government publications, special collections, gazettes, amendments, standards, patents and specifications and UNISEL publications are also placed in this collection. This collection is indicated with the initial
'MAL' at the spine of the book

SERIAL (PERIODICALS)
UNISEL library subscribes to an essential number of serial publications in relevance to the discipline offered. Serial collection includes magazines, journal, annual reports, newsletter and bulletins. Serial collection is indicated with the initial
'SER' at the front cover of the periodicals

THESES / PROJECT PAPERS
Theses and dissertations are the earning of researches done by UNISEL students in order for them to get their diplomas, bachelor degrees, master degress or doctoral degrees

AUDIO VISUAL MATERIALS
This collection is located at Information Counter and currently offers access to audio visual(AV) materials. It includes CD-ROMs, DVDs and kits


NEWSPAPER CLIPPING
Daily newspaper, Berita Harian, News Strait Times, Utusan Malaysia
, The Star, Harian Metro, Kosmo and Sinar Harian are categorised and subjected according to the subject taxonomies. The clippings are index for students reference. Newspaper clipping available at Reference Unit also can access by online through website library

EXAMINATION PAPER
Past semesters examination papers for all programs are available for reference and it is located at
Reference Unit and also can access by online through website library

ONLINE DATABASE
Online database are the database available at UNISEL Library which can be accessed by the members. There are about 10,646 online journal titles ready to be accessed at anytime. The online journals provide a wide variety of relevant information of the current issues, research and publications that assist users in completing their literature review of the thesis, project papers, assigment and etc

DIGITAL COLLECTIONS
Digital collections have been locally developed by the Library to provide easy access to local content. They cover selected newspaper articles, theses and dissertations (only abstrac ), journals and examination papers. The collection (e-Document) can be accessed 24/7 via the Library Website-http://library.unisel.edu.my

BOARDS GAMES
This collection comprises of a variety of boards games such as Sahibba, Chess and Vocable

CHILDREN'S COLLECTIONS
The Children's Library has a collection of 1,500 books in Bahasa Melayu and English geared toward children ages 3-12. Children books are arranged according to the Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme
